Inspiration

< Return to the home page

I realised the other day that I’m a creature of habit when it comes to putting together mood boards for projects. I always start with the same four resources.

So I thought it would be cool to share them as they’ve always proved to be awesome for shaping a projects direction.

01 / Site Inspire – www.siteinspire.net

I first came across site inspire a couple of years ago. The quality of the work they showcase is always of the highest order and the categorisation is accurate and useful.

02 / Styleboost – www.styleboost.com

Johan Bakken reserves spots in his gallery, styleboost, for the best work out there. So, like siteinspire, you don’t find yourself filtering through crap to find the good stuff :]

03 / My Flickr Account

I use littlesnapper to grab screenshots of work I like from week to week, and then upload it my flickr account using it’s handy plugin. Really useful way of bookmarking inspiration.

04 / Dribbble

Dribbble is my daily source of inspiration but it’s great for project research and inspiration mid project. If you’re looking for ideas on how to go about treating a specific design element (buttons, tabs etc), dribbble is fantastic!

Anyone else have regular ‘haunts’ that they visit when they’re kicking off a project? Or maybe you start off at the library before going online? Please feel free to share :]
